Well its not best dessert item, but it’s healthy so if that’s what you’re looking for then this is pretty good.

Porridge Granola Bars

You’ll need:

  • 130g Porridge oats
  • 1tsp Cinnamon
  • 50g Raisins
  • 45g Dried dates, chopped
  • 20g Hazelnuts
  • 10g Flaked almonds
  • 10g Sesame seeds
  • 20g Sunflower seeds
  • 1 Egg
  • 300ml Milk
  • 2tbsp Honey
  • 1tsp Vanilla extract

Method:

  1. Mix all the dry ingredients together, beat the egg and milk together in a jug.
  2. Pour a bit of the milk mixture into the dry ingredients, then add the honey and vanilla and mix well, continue to pour the milk into the mixture and mix well, leave to soak for half an hour. Preheat oven to gasmark 4/ 180*C/350*F, line a medium square brownie tin with grease proof paper.
  3. Once the milk has been absorbed a bit, pour the mixture into the tin and bake for 45-60 minutes until golden brown and firm. Once cooled, cut into bars. Done
