Shortcrust Pastry

A lot of my recipes include this pastry, so to make it easier I’m just going to link to this page instead of going through it every time.

You will need:

  • 225g Plain flour
  • 130g Cold butter, cubed
  • 1/4tsp salt
  • 3-4tbsp Cold water

Method:

1. Rub together the butter and flour with your fingertips until it looks like yellow-ish bread crumbs. Mix in the salt and water until it comes together in a soft ball. If it doesn’t come together add more water. If it’s too wet then add some flour or chill it. Don’t do this too much. And that’s pretty much it. Cooking time varies from recipe to recipe.
